To ensure a perfect seal, position the face mask over your mouth and nose, and then tighten the elastic straps (you may need to adjust the cradle to achieve a comfortable fit). Test the seal before starting work by covering the exhaust valve with your fingers and breathing out; if the respirator bulges slightly and no air leaks out between the mask and your face a proper fit has been achieved.
